JUJUBES ON A STORMY DAY.................. oil on board.......5” x 7” 12.5 cm x 17.5 cm)
The fruit “Ziziphus jujuba” is a curiosity. Crunchy when green, it softens when color changes to brown. The taste also evolves from light sweet to that of a date. It is very popular in China where it is eaten as a fruit, added into soup, and used as well in medicinal mixture.
